PUBLIC SAFETY

Billy stands behind our dedicated women and men of law enforcement and understands the critical role they play in maintaining community safety. While other states are defunding law enforcement, Billy has supported more funding for law and order than ever before so they may serve and protect our communities. Combating crime also means being tough on our immigration policies and ending the flow of dangerous substances like fentanyl that are harming our citizens, young and old. Billy believes that justice for those who traffic fentanyl should be swift and sure. He voted for a bill to provide a mandatory sentence for those who do, and has sponsored legislation in the Senate to create a new offense, “drug-induced homicide,” for persons who deliver drugs to an individual in which leads to death.
