NATURAL RESOURCES

We have been blessed by God by some of the world’s greatest natural resources. Billy recognizes the importance of safeguarding these assets, including agricultural land, farming resources, rivers and lakes. He has spent his service advocating for policies that protect these vital ecosystems, ensuring clean water, recreational opportunities so they are even better for future generations. Notably, Billy led the effort with other members of the Greenwood Delegation to secure $36 million to replace the long-overlooked Conestee Dam. Without this funding, the risk of major pollution to the Saluda River, Lake Greenwood and Lake Murray was all but certain. As a result, the waterways and residents on the lakes and rivers will be protected.
