EDUCATION 

As a grandfather of two boys currently in Lexington County Public Schools, Billy is focused on ensuring that education remains at a top priority. As State Senator, Billy has helped secure hundreds-of-millions of dollars in new funding for schools in Senate District 10. Additionally, he voted to increase starting teacher pay to the record levels, and has sponsored legislation to give parents a voice more than ever. Billy also recognizes that education ought to help train the next generation of South Carolina's workforce which includes encouraging partnerships between the high schools and our regional technical colleges.
